What can you expect from Autodesk Fusion 360?

Autodesk introduced Fusion 360 into its portfolio 5 years ago with the drive to change the way, we in the CAD industry, communicate and produce our designs digitally.

Fusion 360 is swiftly becoming one of Autodesk’s most interesting applications. Mainly because it empowers designers and engineers to build products using all aspects of the application. In the past designers and engineers where tasked with specific processes in the design phase, but now that Autodesk have given users the ability to utilise multiple disciplines in one application the role of designer and engineer are veering closer together with a stronger respectful relationship.

Autodesk Fusion 360 gives users the ability to design, engineer, simulate and build (CAM and 3D printing) products with a whole host of tools. Meaning after all these years of dreaming that one application could do it all is here. Fusion 360 has the wow factor.

Users can expect to find an application that is so user friendly, they will begin to enjoy designing even move than ever. With the flexibility of various modelling techniques, users will gain experience venturing into the unknown, using modelling techniques that have always been unreachable with certain CAD applications. Bringing designs to life faster, allowing more time to explore other avenues of design.

Fusion 360 gives the feeling of no longer designing within a box, having the freedom to be more daring, to spark the light of inspiration which designers crave.

Actioning new design and creative thinking is effortless using Fusion 360, using a combination of tools that build strongly presented products.

Other CAD products make design so difficult to manage at times, but Fusion 360 gives users the ability to build and share easily. Allowing collaboration during the design process, gearing towards data management. Fusion 360 truly has a lot to offer users.

Designers should no longer be regarded with talent within a certain industry. They no longer need to be passing on designs at critical stages, instead they can work seamlessly through design phases e.g. design, simulation and manufacture. Changes can be made in Fusion 360 at any critical design stage, reflecting on all aspects of design. Models are associative through the whole process giving designers freedom, reliability and time to make changes quicker with immediate impact and review.

All in all, I am still surprised at what Autodesk Fusion 360 has to offer. It makes users want to venture into parts of the design process they wouldn’t have before, making our future designers and engineers capable of handling and understand other areas of design and not just their focus subjects.

The main thing to expect from Fusion 360 is how it will make you feel towards design, and that is refreshed, ready and willing to take on new challenges for yourself and the future of technology.

Have fun with it and look out for more Fusion 360 blogs from Symetri as Autodesk build Fusion 360 to be even more exciting.

Autodesk Construction Cloud som samhandlingsplattform for byggeprosjekter

23 mai 2024
