Symetri strengthens its position in the US with the acquisition of Team D3

Expanded manufacturing, power & process and AECO capabilities provides strong platform for growth

Symetri strengthens its position in the US with the acquisition of Team D3

Stockholm, Sweden, June 1st, 2023

Symetri, one of the leading solution providers of digital BIM, product design and lifecycle solutions, today announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Team D3, an Autodesk Platinum Partner headquartered in the US.

Founded in 1999, Team D3 is one of the largest Autodesk partners in the US, with a focus on driving continuous innovation and improvement for customers in the manufacturing, power & process, and AECO industries.  Inspired by an unrelenting passion for the customers they serve, Team D3’s 200+ employees bring unrivalled expertise, proven processes, and advanced technologies to its 5000+ customers.

With revenues of more than $ 120 million across its three brands (D3 Technologies, MG, ECAD) Team D3 brings to Symetri significant expertise in the manufacturing and power & process sectors, along with additional AECO service capabilities to complement its acquisition of Microdesk in 2022.

Together, Symetri, Microdesk and Team D3 will serve more than 400.000 daily users, 25.000 customers and have more than 1.000 employees across Europe and the US. Their combined resources will bring specialist industry capability and R&D capacity to its global customer base, helping them find innovative ways to work smarter and more sustainably.

Jens Kollserud, CEO Symetri, explained, “After our successful acquisition of Microdesk last year, we were looking for an opportunity to expand our offering for both our AECO and manufacturing customers in the US. Team D3 is an excellent fit both strategically and operationally with their industry expertise and presence across the Midwestern United States. Their team will not only help us broaden our geographic reach and the AECO services we can offer, but they will also provide us with a strong presence in the manufacturing and power & process markets, and the opportunity to bring our own IP, such as Naviate, Sovelia and CQ to those customers.

Kevin Schlack, CEO, Team D3 commented “When we began to consider strategic options to take Team D3 to the next level, one thing was clear, we wanted to partner with someone that put customers and innovation at the heart of everything they do. From the very beginning we were struck by the similar journeys our companies had been on, the closeness we felt to our customers, and the importance we place on being a great place to work. When we then looked at Microdesk’s and Symetri’s own IP and the investments they make every year in R&D, we realised the incredible value it could offer our customers. We are excited about joining Microdesk and Symetri and looking forward to building a successful global business for both our customers and our employees.
